about

‘This is how this song came to be. My mother in law started a speaking series under the banner; Peace starts with me. It’s a call to humanities conscience. It’s a call to care for the environment. Create a culture that is mutual beneficial. Create altruistic societies where human rights are observed. It is in a way a simple message. It has been said before. But don’t we need to hear it now more than ever?

The simplicity in the message spoke to me. It linked back to the first time I heard “Imagine” by John Lennon. The minute you’ve heard it, you recognize it’s simplistic timeless truth. And you know it cannot be unsung nor unheard. And over and over you think to yourself that you are happy little songs like that exists in this world as a model we can reach for.

My mother in laws little speech does the same for me. I am happy these words gets repeated. I am happy someone made the effort to gather them together and give them air and time in world that seems to be unraveling by the hour.

This is not the time to make ourselves the end goal. It is the time to make ourselves responsible and be the first to take action at the place"

lyrics

Peace starts with me
Peace starts with me
I been waiting for so long
I been waiting for too long

Peace starts with me
Peace starts with me
We been waiting for so long
We been waiting for too long

What’s to become of us
Life is so dangerous
Who can end these crazy times - oh

Will it last or will it pass ?

We cannot wait no more
Cause we’re right at the door
Of losing everything that we’ve been fighting for

There’s so much divide
So many grounds to fight
Everybody claims the truth, oh

Beyond the blame, we want the same!
The God we say is ours
That gives us rights and powr’s
What does he want to tell us at this trying hour?

Starting over
Starting over on my own
Starting over
I've been waiting for too long

Starting over
Starting over on my own
Starting over
We've been waiting for too long

This is My American Revolution. Smitten by sound, haunted by words, I don't believe in guns or violence, but I believe in the revolving human heart, expressed in songs. Some will call this pop noir, some will call it red wine music. I met you here to tell you this. ... more
